Donald “Don” Nydam
Over the first 20 plus years when Community Christian College came to the edge of extinction on occasion, Don would save the college. His leadership as Chair of the Board of Trustees and his financial contributions was not be equaled. He lead CCC through its initial start-up, recognition by it’s current accreditor, and its growth into what it is today, a thriving institution.
Don Nydam was a visionary, in a positive way, with diversified interests. As a strong religious believer, a patriot, and philanthropist, he desired that educational opportunities should be available for all who want to gain knowledge.

To those who knew Don, you would have heard him say:
"Do the right thing."
"Outstanding!"
Being the visionary he was, I heard him say, "Build the Bridge while you are walking on it," in reference to the people who wanted all their ducks in a row (like me) before proceeding with a project.

One of Don’s favorite Bible passages include, 1 John 4: 7-12
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Some of Don’s favorite Hymns include: “Amazing Grace,” “How Sweet the Sound,” and “Great is Thy Faithfulness. A more contemporary song he liked was, “10,000 Reasons” with the chorus of “Bless the Lord Oh My Soul.”
